Damien and I are about to depart New Zealand and starting to feel the stress off not thinking about packing until 24 hours before we leave! (I have made multiple mental notes to never do this again). It turns out that packing for 5 months is sometimes challenging when trying to travel ‘light’ – anyhow, I keep telling myself that all we really need is a passport and a credit card.
Most importantly, and the reason we have been slightly distracted from the packing task, is we have been busy having a holiday before the holiday starts! We were treated to a visit from our Australian family and took a road trip from Christchurch (South Island) to Auckland (North Island) over 2 weeks. From bush walks to snow on the Desert Road we managed to squeeze it all in (even a mid-winter Christmas Dinner!).

So a little sad that our family holiday is over we are ready to pack up and leave our life in NZ for a little while and see what the other hemisphere has to offer.
Off to start and hopefully finish packing – all I have so far is a hairdryer…
